Tom Paterson

Tom Paterson is a product development and digital transformation specialist with more than 15 years' experience delivering technology, data and user-centred solutions across the construction, social impact and education sectors. As part of the leadership team at Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), the independent, not-for-profit organisation that has set and raised standards for responsible construction for 30 years, he leads the development of products, systems and insight-led services that help the industry improve performance, behaviours and outcomes. 

Tom also leads the strategic development of Building a Safer Future (BSF), the industry-led organisation established following Dame Judith Hackitt's review of building regulations and fire safety to help drive improvement in building safety through stronger leadership, accountability, culture and competence. 

Tom specialises in helping organisations deliver quality and positive impact in the built environment, from design to occupation, using data-led insights to inform decision making and create the conditions for continuous improvement. 

Through his work with CCS and BSF, he helps develop the tools, frameworks and insights that enable organisations to strengthen capability, embed a positive safety culture and move beyond compliance towards lasting organisational competence. 

He brings a practical perspective on how leadership, technology and learning can help attract, retain and support talent while building confidence in safer outcomes across the built environment.
